Tasting experience
As a Pour over, Strawberry & Lychee aromas are arresting. Imagine drinking a top-notch Pu-Erh tea balanced across with the acidity of citrius and sweetness of a plum. Don't be surprised if you feel as if you have been drinking coffee in the Bahamas because the floral notes in this Ethiopian Blend is not one to be missed for you floral fruity lovers out there. Being a clean, silky smooth pour is no longer just plain joe.
As an Espresso, floral notes are turn low towards a fruity tea nuance. Sweet berries is the outstanding flavour here apart from its delicate Citrus flavour reminisce of Candied Oranges.
Farm Information
Exporter and producer Abdullah Bagersh has developed this full natural coffee with a remarkable level of care through every step of the process, making it a true standout unlike any other Ethiopian coffee. This Ethiopian heirloom coffee was grown at an altitude of 1,750 - 2,200 meters in the coffee growing region of Yirgacheffe in Ethiopia.Coffee's of Yirgacheffe have long been prized for their delicate tea-like aromatics and clean flavor. Recently , producers of Gedio region have been reinventing the natural process originally developed in Ethiopia to offer a completely profile from this well-known origin. The MISTY VALLEY is a prime example of the fruitiness , complexity and character of this natural yirgacheffe coffee.

I am a repeat buyer so have shared my reviews countless times. I shan’t repeat myself but what I would add is the freshness of the roast every time I receive the bag. I received this on 13/7. The beans were roasted on the 12th. I feel Cowpresso deserves the 5 stars for once instead of the beans. The latter gets enough love. Kudos Cowpresso, reason enough for me to laze away and not waste consciousness looking for other roasters. Precious time needed to veg away and savour the roast :)

As an espresso enthusiast, I have always appreciated the complexity and depth of flavours that a well-crafted espresso shot can deliver. My previous experiences with the blend have been delightful, characterised by balanced acidity, pleasant sweetness, and distinct fermentation notes typical of a natural process coffee. Unfortunately, my recent purchase from June 2024 has fallen short of these expectations.
Flavor Profile:
Despite extensive experimentation with various grind sizes, shot pressures, coffee volumes, s, and water temperatures, the resulting espresso shots consistently come out not drinkable but over-extracted. The predominant flavour is heavy roasted notes, which overpower the expected acidity and any inherent sweetness. The fermentation flavours, usually a hallmark of natural process beans, are notably absent in this batch.
Despite these efforts, the heavily roasted flavour remains dominant, suggesting that this batch may have been over-roasted or improperly processed, masking the beans' natural characteristics.
Conclusion:
This recent batch has disappointed me, especially compared to my previous positive experiences. The lack of expected acidity, sweetness, and fermentation notes, coupled with an overpowering roasted flavour, indicates a significant deviation from the quality I have come to expect. I hope this feedback is helpful for quality control, as these beans can potentially deliver a much more balanced and enjoyable espresso experience.
