For Espresso Machine extraction, we recommend a double shot to allow the fruits to shine through the milk. For coffee people who enjoy single shots with milk, there is a slight hint of the pleasant acidity at the end.
Farm Information
The Amazonas region of Peru stands out for its ideal coffee-growing conditions, such as high altitudes, rich ground, and a perfect climate. Israel Carranza, the farmer behind La Fortuna, operates at 1,800 meters above sea level. Known as one of the top producers in the area, his farm's reputation has been solidified through Alpes Andinos' extensive cupping evaluations.
Israel’s connection to coffee spans his entire life, growing up in Gracias a Dios and started working very young in the coffee industry. At La Fortuna, the traditional ‘Zoca’ method is used to ensure sustainable coffee farming through 15-year cycles. By introducing young plants ahead of time and enriching the soil with organic compost and guano de las Islas, the farm maintains top-tier quality.
With guidance from Alpes Andinos, through training and better pricing opportunities for farmers, La Fortuna produces organic, natural-processed Caturra and Bourbon coffee varieties. The harvest runs from June to September. Israel’s dedication supports his family, funding education and daily living costs, while preserving heritage coffee production traditions which continue to work well today.
